History Minors

We have the same minor for the Bachelor of Arts, Science, and Social Work degrees. This is a good minor for many programs, but is particularly useful for those wishing to concentrate their studies in Latin American, Middle Eastern, African, or East Asian area studies.

For instance, a student interested in East Asia could take a minor consisting of 3 hours in the US survey (HST 121 or 122) which is a General Education requirement, 3 hours of "World History"  (HST 103 or 104) which satisfies the Culture and Society: Humanities Perspective part of General Education, and then take East Asia I and II, HST 340 "Business and Society, U.S., Britain and Japan," and HST 571 "China in the 20th Century." There will also be occasional topics and intersession courses in East Asian history.
