What is National History Day?

Region 7 National History Day competition is an exciting year-long educational program that encourages students to study history and exercise their critical thinking skills. Hundreds of students from the fifteen counties of Region 7 have participated, and each year many of these go on to compete in the state and national competitions. The program provides students with an opportunity to research original materials and express what they have learned through creative and original dramatic performances, media presentations, research papers, or three-dimensional exhibits.

Formal History Day competition begins in the schools of the district. Students then compete at the Region 7 competition held each March at Missouri State University.
